Rooted in Faith • Active in Community
Our History
More than four decades of worship, education, justice, service, and community building in Winston-Salem.
A legacy of involvement
Built by faith. Shaped through service.
The Community Mosque grew from the Institute for Islamic Involvement, an organized Muslim membership organization founded in 1980 and dedicated to active Muslim participation in the life of the wider community. From its earliest days, education, social justice, outreach, and compassionate service have remained central to its identity.
